During the week two independent bookstores agreed to stock copies of Rosso. - Subiaco Bookstore and Boffins Books in William Street Perth This means that as well as being available in Kindle Format and available worldwide through Ingram Content and Amazon books Rosso can now be purchased here in WA.
Rosso is all about hope and using hard times to make us or others better people.
Rosso is not about escapism or living in fantasy lands, it's about how tough it can be to live in this wonderful world. But that toughness can also be an opprorunity to make us better people. It can make us reach and help help those who are doing it tough too.
Every drop of care mounts up to an ocean of difference!
On one of our early journeys along Chittering Road we had been told of a well near Peace Be Still which we were told might have been sunk by the monks on their journeys back and forth to New Norcia. This well is currently under investigation by the City of Swan.
So we took a trip up there with Trevor Walley who is a Noongar Elder and we found the Chittering well which still had water in it even though the local creek was dry.
Trevor also told us about another well up "near Julimar". Last week and just the other day he sent us this picture of THAT well which is only a few kilometres away from our Trail.
On Thursday, Maggie and I took a trip to Toodyay to find out a bit more about John Scully for the book I am writing about him. In passing Marghi at the Tourist Information mentioned a note she had seen in old Police Records from Victoria Plains (that particular police station was located in New Norcia) which mentioned Solomon's Well "halfway between Victoria Plains and Toodyay". So over the last 48 hours I have been narrowing down the location of Solomon's well and if it's where I think it is, that too is along the alignment of the Pilgrim Trail and embeds the concept of Monks Wells along the Pilgrim Trail.
Not only would that be a great story to share, but it also gives campers access to water if it is found to be suitable.
Watch this space!
Now that I've got some paperback books of Rosso I can begin the new challenge of marketing - don't you just love the way life keeps throwing up new challenges?
